Very Heavy & Dark Purple/LavenderI really just ordered it because I thought the shades of purple were pretty & that it would go well with the paint in my room. I even ordered purple orchids to go with it.I saw in the description that it was weighted. I never had a weighted blanket before, but I really liked the colors, so I was like, sure, I'm give it a try. When I got the package I was like woah! So heavy to lift! I was worried a little I might throw my back. Everytime I have to move it, it's a pain moving it.And the colors aren't the vibrant colors in the photos for the item. It's a dull dark purple & a dull lavender.I would return it but the box it came in was ripped (probably because of how heavy the item inside it was) & I really don't want to lug this around because of the weight.I haven't used it yet. When I do, if I change my mind & think weighed blankets are great! I'll update my post. So far, not for me. In my mind, it's like a blanket made out of ankel weights. I didn't expect it to be so heavy.I have a 3 start because the description does say it's weighted, and though most of the pictures show a vibrant purple, there were a few of the dark purple. It was a gamble on which version it would be. But really, it shouldn't be a gamble. It should match all the pictures & maybe be slightly off in color. But totally off. If the color was right, I would have given it 4 stars, & maybe even forgave it being so heavy & gave it 5.Update, March 2022: Finally got to trying it out. I'm okay with it.When I just finish showering & go under, I'm comfortable. The weight does not make me feel like I'm being crushed or pinned. It could be viewed as soothing/comforting, like sinking down into the bed. When I don't shower before bed, then it feels more suffocating. Probably makes no sense, but it's because my skin may feel sticky too me then the addition weight is just too much. When using it, it tends to begin to slide off the bed. When making the bed, U have to be careful to lift it up rather then drag it across. The dragging motion pulls at the fitted sheet underneath & pulls it off.My 3yr old climbed under & didn't seem to mind it. She looked comfortable. My husband pulled the blanket on top of my 5yr old son & I nearly had a heart attack when I saw that because the blanket is very heavy, especially when the weight is not spread out & evenly distributed but concentrated like that.My husband will sleep on top of it but not under it. He doesn't like the weighted. He sends to refuse to try it. Not sure if he tried it while I wasn't looking, but every time I try to get him under he runs away.I'm still dreading washing this thing. The care instructions say to handwash & hang dry. No soak, wring, nor dry clean. I was hoping to just soak it in the tub. I don't know, guess I'll lay it in the tub, wet it sprinkle soap & copy what I see in Asian dramas & step all over it? It's heavy dry, I can't imagine what it will weigh when it's saturated with water. And I don't really have a place for something this big to spread out & drip dry. I guess I will cross that bridge when I get to it in the very near future.Still not happy about the color being a risky different shades of purple. The color was actually why I bought it in the first place, not because of it being weighted. I just figured I would give it a try. As can be seen in the pictures I posted, I bought all the accessories to match the color it was advertised as. So it's a little mitch-match but it will have to do.I raised it from 3 stars to 4 stars since it's doing what is supposed to do I guess. My main complaint is the color being off & the pain it will be to wash this.Update April 2022: I ended up throwing it away rather than washing it. My kids were sick & threw up on it.The instructions said don't soak. So I thought if I just spray it with water in the tub it should work. But then I started thinking, I was interpreting "soak" to equate to submerge. If I shower it with water in the tub, even if not submerge, it's still technically soaked. And it will be heavy, a pain to maneuver to rinse the puke off. I don't have anything outside, like a balcony railing, or anything else strong enough to support its weight to hang dry.So I was like, forget it. I guess this was just an expensive check-off-the-bucket-list I didn't even know it was in there experiment. Me & the kids didn't mind it (my husband did), but the cleaning care of it is too much hassle.Though the cleaning is advertised correctly & clearly, I had to deduct another star because it's just not practical. I felt 4 stars is misleading. 3 stars lines up more with my opinion. -1 for false color. -1 for impractical maintenance/care.
